Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and Unicontrol are expanding theirpartnership to bring the Uncontrol’s flexible and user-friendly 3D machinecontrol technology to North American construction companies. The expanded offering now also includes Active Control for excavators, helping operatorsboost precision, productivity, and safety features, like height and slewlimiter.
· The Unicontrol 3D system will now be available for Volvo excavators in North America – starting with the U.S. and Canada.
· Integration into Volvo’s Co-Pilot platform ensures a seamless and intuitive user experience.
· Support for Active Control means even greater productivity and safety gains.
· The partnership underscores Volvo CE’s commitment to open, adaptable, and efficient digital solutions.
Volvo’s Co-Pilot will serve as the primary interface, giving operators direct access to Unicontrol3D without the need for extra monitors or third-party hardware. Customers ordering Co-Pilot with Dig Assist from the factory will receive all the necessary components pre-installed – activation of Unicontrol3D is the only step required to begin work.
The integration of Active Control for excavators takes the user experience one step further by enabling automatic boom and bucket movements based on design files and safety features, like height and slew limiter. This reduces operator fatigue, enhances precision, and increases safety and productivity – especially useful for grading and trenching applications.
Unicontrol’s rapid growth and commitment to accessible technology aligns with Volvo CE’s vision for the future of construction. The solution is designed to fit any excavator, any format, and any workflow – empowering mixed fleet contractors to adopt 3D machine control without being locked into a proprietary ecosystem.
Martin Kirkmand,CEO at Unicontrol, said:
“The North American market is one of the most dynamic and competitive in the world. We’re proud to bring Unicontrol3D to Volvo customers here – now with support for automatics. This launch marks a significant milestone in our mission to make 3D machine control accessible to all. Together with Volvo CE, we’re giving contractors the freedom, flexibility, and performance they need to stay ahead.”
Visitors to CONEXPO can see Unicontrol3D in action at the Volvo CE booth, including live demonstrations of the new Active Control with Unicontrol.
